God, as much as I admire MLK, that’s how much I can’t stand listening to ignorant white people go on about “the content of your character” every birthday.
Go read all his works, people. Stop using him as a rationalization for your own comfortable bigotry.
“If they are America’s angry children today… it is a response to the feeling that a real solution is hopelessly distant, because of the inconsistencies, resistance, and faintheartedness, of those in power.”

"Communism forgets that life is individual. Capitalism forgets that life is social, and the kingdom of brotherhood is found neither in the thesis of communism nor the antithesis of capitalism, but in a higher synthesis." – MLK "Where do we go from here?" speech

You probably won't see much of this quote in the next few days—"“White Americans must recognize that justice for black people cannot be achieved without radical changes in the structure of our society.”
