Zombie

Every time I see the death and destruction in Gaza, I think of this song. Dolores O’Riordan said, “I just cannot accept children being slaughtered at the hands of political violence”, and hoped that “it might make people reflect a bit on our society and what we’ve become.”

  1. Still knocks me out. She was incomparably talented and skillful, well-named. Took the intense inner pain and injury she felt and turned it into compassion and anger at the insanity of injustice, violence and war. But still was able to express the wholeness and love she also experienced as a child. A remarkable life.

It’s our guns and our bombs in Gaza now.

    Another mother’s breakin’
    Heart is takin’ over
    When the violence causes silence
    We must be mistaken
