ICE raids

People on TikTok are reporting ICE raids happening in small cities in various states. To get past algorithmic censorship, they’re writing down the information on paper and holding up and shuffling through the handwritten signs as they talk about pretend subjects like shopping, food, and animals.

  1. Takes a while for the image to come up on my system. When I click on the image on your post I go to the bsky site that shows the image, text, and a very interesting comment thread that I wanted to share with a number of folks. The thread is a debate about how people on TikTok are trying to report on ICE and other police immigration raids and activities using various means to void the (AI) censor. Which is very interesting.

However, when I copy the address of the bsky post with comments, and try to send it, it never includes the comment thread. Which is almost more interesting.

I ran it through two different ISPs and through Australia on VPN. What gets sent is the bsky address for the account, and the image post, but never the much longer address for the specific post and comment thread. Somehow that longer address gets lost every time. I admit to being, ah, not particularly adept, technically.

Anyone have an idea what’s going on and how to fix it? (Just because you’re paranoid, doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you, in this Brave New World.)

  2. I have all kinds of trouble with posting Bluesky. I often can’t post the ones I want. I can’t figure out any pattern.
