Cancer again

I wanted to tell you all I was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It’s early, it’s a small tumor, so as long as it hasn’t spread anywhere else, the surgeon is hopeful.

I will soon be starting six months of chemo, and then head for surgery if the neurosurgeon clears me. Turns out, when I fell down the steps in November, I actually shattered a vertebrae — which explains the four months of intense pain I’ve spent sitting in a chair. Four months of medical “professionals” telling me, “Well, different people have different pain tolerance. Just be patient and it’ll get better eventually.”

It did not. If only someone had ordered the MRI I kept suggesting! The only reason I found out was the CAT scans that were ordered by the oncologist.

Anyway, I do anticipate being too tired to keep up with my usual schedule much of the time. I will blog when I can.
