The good news is that Biden did not nominate warmonger Michele Flournoy to be the next Secretary of Defense.
The bad news is that Biden intends to violate the “law” (like Trump did with Mattis) by nominating General Lloyd Austin who doesn’t meet the legal requirements .
Gen. Austin retired for the military 4 years ago.
The “law” requires that a nominee be retired for at least 7 years.
Joe Biden campaigned on restoring standards and bringing dignity and decency back to the White House.
Biden often said on the campaign trail that “Character is on the ballot.”
Then, right out of the gate Biden wants to violate the law (waivers are BS).
Had Gen. Austin retired in 2013 he would be a perfect candidate for the job, but he retired in 2017 and is therefore ineligible, legally, to become Biden’s Secretary of Defense.
Surely Gen. Austin knows someone as qualified as he is and who has been retired for at least 7 years who will help poor old Joe out?
