Oy, what a mess this debate was. And CNN did such a terrible job.
First of all, I remember Obama having an absolutely terrible debate against Mitt Romney, and Democrats being Democrats, there was much panic in the political universe. That turned out okay. I’m not taking these bedwetters seriously, either.
But Trump definitely won the Karl Rove trophy — which is to say, which person won if you turned off the sound?
All I can say is, no matter how the media chooses to present this, I’m certainly not picking a president on the basis of television optics. (After all, that’s how we got two terms of Ronald Reagan.) I’m not looking to marry Biden. He’s bright, he cares passionately about working people, he has done wonders with the economy, and I expect he will do much more in a second term. In the long run, I expect him to be even better than FDR.
But he has to learn how to effectively communicate his achievements to voters.
I know why it’s hard. Biden has achieved so much that’s important, but unless you’re a policy wonk, you wouldn’t understand the importance of everything he’s done (particularly in corporate monopolies and abuses). I’m a policy wonk, and I still have trouble explaining what he’s achieved!
Shake it off. We have an election to win.

No time for pantywaists. Pick your fighter from the 2 old guys. One’s selling the continuation of democracy even after being a decades long public servant who had a really bad night, the other is a convicted felon facing even more federal charges and continues to be a clear and present danger.
