Laura Nyro often did covers of girl-group songs in her live sets:

She did a whole album of them, “Gonna Take a Miracle,” on which she was backed by Labelle, Patti Labelle’s three-woman group.
“Gonna Take A Miracle” is amongst the greatest albums recorded, IMHO.
