Nearly five dozen white supremacists representing six different known neo-Nazi groups in Texas have been arrested for running a massive meth and extortion ring, a federal court just revealed.
The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas unsealed indictments Tuesday against members of the Aryan Circle, the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas, the Aryan Brotherhood, the Peckerwoods, the Soldiers of Aryan Culture, and the Dirty White Boys.
The arrests and indictments come after a years-long federal investigation. Charges include everything from drug trafficking to kidnapping and paint the portrait of a vast criminal network that’s been “engaged in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and other illegal narcotics throughout the Northern District of Texas and elsewhere,” the indictment reads.
The charged white supremacists “used firearms and physical violence to further their drug trafficking activities,” according to the indictment, which was first obtained and reported by Sebastian Murdock of the Huffington Post.

Donald Trump, abstinence hero
Every single time Trump has gotten married, his wives were pregnant.
And he’s famous for cheating on them. Now, keep that in perspective as you read this:
The Trump administration will shift federal funding aimed at reducing teen pregnancy rates to programs that teach abstinence.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced Friday the availability of grants through the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program, (TPPP) a grant program created under former President Obama that funds organizations and programs working to reduce teen pregnancy rates.
Trump’s HHS announced, however, that unlike under the Obama administration, grants will be geared toward organizations that teach abstinence education to teens instead of the comprehensive sex ed approach the previous administration supported.

Why mental health treatment is not an easy solution to violence

Armed deputy at Fla. school waited outside building during shooting, never went in, sheriff says
Run after someone with an assault rifle? I don’t know that I would have been all that eager:
Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said during a Thursday news conference that the officer waited outside the building for about four minutes without ever going in. Authorities say 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz fatally shot 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland on Feb. 14.
The sheriff says the deputy responded to the building where the shooting took place, took up a position outside a door and never went in.
Student sexual assaults covered up as hazing incidents across the country

A shocking study conducted by the Associated Press (AP) reveals that many incidents of sports hazing and bullying reported by school districts are actually cases of student-on-student sexual assault.
Even more alarming, is that the incidents become so “normalized” that players who were once the victims of violent sexual assault often become the attacker the year after they were attacked.
And despite many coaches claiming they did not know these attacks were occurring, the AP investigation discovered many cases where coaches not only knew the assaults were happening, but tried to cover these incidents up.
The AP looked at state education records and federal crime data, examining approximately 17,000 reports of sexual assaults by students over a four-year period. The official reports covered students in grades K-12.
Although the majority of cases involved high school students, there were cases that involved middle school students. In the majority of incidents, the majority of aggressors were male students.
Some of the cases the AP discovered include:
- A football player in Idaho hospitalized with rectal injuries after he was sodomized with a coat hanger;
- A teen from North Carolina suffered rectal injury after jabbed with a broomstick through his clothes;
- Multiple sexual assaults by a Georgia baseball team on its own rookie players; and
- A Vermont athlete was sodomized by his teammates with a broom and later committed suicide.
In case after case after case, the AP discovered that coaches either ignored the behaviors, ignored the pleas of help from victims, and often covered up and destroyed evidence of the assaults. Many times, it was hospital personnel who reported the crime when the victim was brought to emergency rooms for medical treatment, not the coaches.
Experts say that the major issue in why these assaults continue is the culture that surrounds team sports and many of these incidents are shrugged off as “jock behavior” by society. Compounding the issue for victims is that if they do speak up about being assaulted, they risk losing their place on the team and sport that they have likely worked so hard to obtain a spot on.
In a discussion about the AP’s report, Attorney Goldstein said, “This is outrageous that our children are being victimized and assaulted while school districts and coaches look the other way or cover up these crimes. They should be held as criminally responsible as the offenders are.”
Oh look
Another allegation: Woman says Al Franken grabbed her butt
If we got rid of every member of Congress who grabs women, we won’t have any left. I don’t know how he recovers from this allegation, especially since he was already a senator when it happened:
A woman says Sen. Al Franken inappropriately touched her in 2010, telling CNN that he grabbed her buttocks while taking a photo at the Minnesota State Fair.
It is the first allegation of improper touching by Franken, who is a Democrat, while he was in office. It comes just days after Leeann Tweeden, a local radio news anchor in California, said that Franken forcibly kissed and groped her in 2006, when Franken was a comedian.
Franken has since issued an apology to Tweeden and faces a potential investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee.Lindsay Menz, a 33-year-old woman who now lives in Frisco, Texas, reached out to CNN on Thursday hours after Tweeden made her story public. Menz said she wanted to share an “uncomfortable” interaction that left her feeling “gross.”
According to Menz, she attended the Minnesota State Fair with her husband and father in the summer of 2010, almost two years after Franken was elected to the Senate. Her father’s small business was sponsoring a local radio booth, and she spent the day meeting various elected officials, political candidates and celebrities and taking photos with them as they stopped by the booth.
When Franken walked in, Menz and her husband, who also spoke with CNN, said they recognized him right away. Menz said she had a brief and cordial exchange with the senator.
Then, as her husband held up her phone and got ready to snap a photo of the two of them, Franken “pulled me in really close, like awkward close, and as my husband took the picture, he put his hand full-fledged on my rear,” Menz said. “It was wrapped tightly around my butt cheek.”“It wasn’t around my waist. It wasn’t around my hip or side. It was definitely on my butt,” she said, recalling that the brazen act lasted three or four seconds. “I was like, oh my God, what’s happening.”
“He reached around her and kind of pulled her into him,” said her husband Jeremy Menz, who didn’t see what happened behind his wife. “He pulled her in and pushed his head against her head. It was over pretty quick.”
Lindsay Menz told CNN that she walked away as soon as the photo was taken, without saying anything to the then-first term senator. When she reconnected with her husband moments later, she told him: “He totally grabbed my butt.” Jeremy Menz described that conversation the same way to CNN.
