There are a handful of artists that made such an immediate impression, I can remember exactly where I was when I first heard them. Alison Krauss is one of them. I was in the first house I rented after my divorce, a slumlord property that was all I could afford. I was painting the bathroom (peach) and listening to WXPN’s “Sunnyside” bluegrass show, then hosted by the not-yet World Cafe host, David Dye.
