And I read somewhere that a nursing home rented a dozen ambulances to evacuate their sick, elderly patients - but the ambulances were then commandeered by FEMA.

A bus carrying elderly evacuees from Hurricane Rita caught fire early Friday on gridlocked Interstat
That was the early report. All sources are now reporting 24 dead. Evidently they were extremely frail & died waiting for help getting off the bus. Many were on supplemental oxygen, which only fueled the fire. Really sad.
