I don’t blame them one bit for pulling out since other articles I read gave the details on the playoff system which the linked article conveniently left out. Instead of the usual playoff system where the highest ranked team would play the lowest and so on down the rankings this system had the highest ranked team playing the next highest and so on. Thus ensuring that some of the higher ranked and better performing teams would be eliminated before lower performing teams. All the break away teams wanted was the same system used in every other sport not the affirmative action playoff system.
