Worst President Ever

Bush’s disapproval rating is at 65 percent:
“It’s astonishing,” said Pat Caddell, who was President Jimmy Carter’s pollster. “It’s hard to look at the situation today and say the country is absolutely 15 miles down in the hole. The economy’s not that bad — for some people it is, but not overall. Iraq is terribly handled, but it’s not Vietnam; we’re not losing 250 people a week. . . . We don’t have that immediate crisis, yet the anxiety about the future is palpable. And the feeling about him is he’s irrelevant to that. I think they’ve basically given up on him.”
That may stem in part from the changing nature of society. When Caddell’s boss was president, there were three major broadcast networks. Today cable news, talk radio and the Internet have made information far more available, while providing easy outlets for rage and polarization. Public disapproval of Bush is not only broad but deep; 52 percent of Americans “strongly” disapprove of his performance and 28 percent describe themselves as “angry.”
Gee. He lied us into a war and refuses to leave, turned us into torturers, made us an even bigger target for terrorists, widened the class divide into a chasm, removed worker protections or stopped enforcing them, refuses to do anything about climate change, shredded the Constitution, and now he wants to start another war.
You’re right, Mr. Caddell. I can’t imagine why anyone is mad.

What color alert are we at? How is airline security working, when everybody is taking their shoes off but “things” are still being smuggled on board - by US people? That sub-prime thing is going well, too. Our food? Maybe we shouldn’t eat it.
Please, can I go live in an Ivory Tower? I need a break.
Dear Pat Caddell: sometimes you can judge a man by his haircut.
Caddell seems to have been left behind by the
march of current events — he’s looking at
Bushco’s actions through a 1970s filter, when
things were much simpler and more benign.
Corruption and unconstitutionality seem
to be completely off his radar.
