Where the hell does the Clinton campaign get these people? It’s just plain stupid and makes her look bad.
By the way, would that it were as simple as firing your campaign staffers and hiring new ones. The ones who are working the presidential cycle have probably now signed on with Obama - and the rest have gone home to rest up before the next gig. Now that Obama looks like he’ll take it, no one wants to piss off the probable nominee by going to work for Clinton.
That doesn’t leave her with many options except to reshuffle the people she already has. (Which she’s done.)

I agree. This is stupid. The whole tone of the Clinton campaign when it comes to Obama is nasty and low. Her tactics are looking like they came from Carl Rove’s playbook. I am liking her less and less as this campaign wears on.
ogged is guessing that clinton’s internal polling must be looking really grim. i don’t think that’s necessarily true. i do think the clinton campaign was both surprised by and totally unprepared for obama to be this strong this far into the race.
i guess the big downside to having a “my nomination is inevitable” strategy is that after a while you start believing it yourself.
Well, the campaign managers are usually determined to keep any news from the candidate that will throw them off their stride, and for that reason, they often refuse to give the candidates the real internal poll numbers: “We’re doing great, don’t worry about it!”
But there comes a point where you have to have a “come to Jesus” meeting and lay it all out. Sounds like it may have been too late to help.
Hmm maybe the Clintons just are not that smart - ever consider that?

The candidate’s not supposed to get involved in field organizing, for heaven’s sake - the consultants are supposed to take care of it. I wonder who Penn hired? This is really bush-league stuff, they’re springing a new leak every minute.
i dont think this is a stunt. i think this speaks to his character… if not, then why doesnt he admit all of the other times he’s borrowed? why doesnt he tell the truth abt his past? if he cant stand up to a poorly run campaign by hrc, he is going to be toast in november!
