You know, I am thanking god I was offline most of the weekend, because I think my head would have exploded. Let me just say this, quoting liberally from my own blog this morning:

This party operative on the radio pissed me right off. The first thing he said, in this whiny, petulant voice, was “It gives a perfect opening to Rove and the Republicans to beat us over the head.”

And I just started laughing, and then stopped listening, because the guy was such a pussy. “Oh no, the REPUBLICANS are going to beat us over the head! Oh no what’ll we do, what’ll we do? Obama said something and now the Republicans are going to be mad!!!” I imagined the guy wringing his hands and pulling at his own hair in a panic, kind of like the March Hare from “Alice in Wonderland”. “Oh no, now you’ve gone and upset the Republicans, and we’re all going to pay now!”

I mean, what the hell do Republicans do OTHER than whack people over the head with little non-issue bullshit? If it wasn’t “the bitterness of small town people” it’d be bowling scores (oh wait…). If it wasn’t bowling scores, it’s be flag pins. Or how to eat a fucking cheesesteak.

And that doesn’t even get into the absurdity of one millionaire politician calling another millionaire politician an “elitist”.
Anyone that buys this shit is an idiot in my book. A flat-out idiot. The Republicans are going to throw everything they can at Obama? Holy shit! I also heard the sun rises in the east every morning, and that water is wet. Oh, and guess what: the same thing is true of Hillary Clinton.

If Obama’s the nominee, it’s going to be months of Jeremiah Wright and bitter and bowling and he’s black. If it’s Clinton, it’s gonna be months of Bill Clinton’s penis, Vince Foster, Hillary-care. Six of one, half-a-dozen on the other.

Believe me, the last thing I’m worried about is whether the Clinton team thinks Obama spells electoral disaster because of GOP attacks, an analysis that starts from a point of defeatism, and doesn’t even take into account the fact that the NRCC is fucking broke, that there’s been a massive shift away from the GOP, that the current Occupant is about as popular as a fishhook in the urethra, and that the public in general favors democrats by WIDE margins.

Boo hoo, the republicans might throw a hissy fit. And the Clinton campaign plays right into it. Lord knows we don’t want to rile the republicans. They might say something mean, and wouldn’t THAT just be a horrible surprise.

Gov. Tim Kaine is opposed to the death penalty, although he promised to carry it out when so ordered by a court. If a death penalty opponent can win Virginia, it won’t be a problem nationally. I think some of the other concerns are over blown, I say this as a veteran of Doug Wilder’s run for Lt Gov. in 1985.

The concern over a media freak show is a real concern, and Obama has never coped with that.

Five million people in this country suffer from Alzheimer’s Disease. During the next administration, the number will skyrocket due to the aging baby boomer population.

We need to ask our candidates what they’re going to do about it before it bankrupts Medicare and Medicaid. PA voters must ask that question now.
