People are beginning to catch on to the media game, looks like:

Fully 72% of the public - including comparable percentages of Democrats, Republicans and independents - say that journalists should not be anointing Obama as the Democratic nominee at this stage in the race. Just 20% say that journalists should be doing this.

got it…

saying “hillary clinton will win the primary in west virginia by a large margin” BEFORE it happens is okay.

saying “barack obama will win the nomination based on the agreed upon metrics of the DNC” is NOT okay.

both are true, but one is sexist, the other is fine analysis.

is the results that interesting? i mean, the results were practically inevitable when the question is asked like that. i betcha over 70% of the public would tell pollsters that any profession should not be “annointing” anyone anything.

as for sisters of ye, it is sad to watch the clintonosphere taking rightwing smears (originating from a fox news crawl of all places!) as fact, without even the slightest efforts to examine whether someone pulled these “facts” out their ass. the “400 bloggers” seems to be completely made up, just like that mythical michelle obama videotape.

Speaking of media, perhaps you’ll post this little tidbit Obama eyes media with promise of antitrust push.

Democrat Barack Obama said on Sunday he would pursue a vigorous antitrust policy if he becomes U.S. president and singled out the media industry as one area where government regulators would need to be watchful as consolidation increases.

“I will assure that we will have an antitrust division that is serious about pursuing cases,” the Illinois senator told an audience of mostly senior citizens in Oregon.

“There are going to be areas, in the media for example where we’re seeing more and more consolidation, that I think (it) is legitimate to ask…is the consumer being served?”

Obama, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination to contest November’s presidential election against Republican Sen. John McCain, criticized President George W. Bush’s administration for lax supervision of major mergers, though he did not cite specific examples or companies.

“We’re going to have an antitrust division in the Justice Department that actually believes in antitrust law. We haven’t had that for the last seven, eight years,” Obama said.

“Some of the consolidations that have been taking place, I think, may be anti-competitive.”
