Did I mention we’re having another?
I stopped by the local bookstore after lunch because 1) I never had the time before and 2) they were having a $1 sale. (Got a Carl Hiaasen I hadn’t read yet!) Had a nice chat with the owner about the death of journalism, and made plans to return.
The place is huge; I think it used to be a movie theater. (Oddly enough, no astrology books.) I don’t normally frequent used bookstores because they do tend to bother my allergies, but this place had such interesting stuff, I couldn’t bring myself to leave. (It appears they have a special interest in Irish history and literature.)
If you’re ever in Port Richmond, check it out.

A friend from work is off to Philly, so I sent her the link. maybe you’ll meet her some day!
you like carl hiaasen?
have you read any donald e. westlake? he’s absolutely brilliant AND has, over 40+ years, written close to a hundred books, many in the comic crime caper genre, many in the hard crime genre and a clutch of “general fiction.”
particularly recommended by me are “adios sheherazade,” “help, i am being held prisoner,” “up your banners,” “what’s the worst that could happen,” “baby, would i lie.” and that’s just off the top of my head.
