How come some of my CDs won’t play in my computer? How come I can’t rip so many of them? Grrrrr….
UPDATE: Okay, managed to rip one CD by opening it in Real Player BUT NOW I CAN’T GET IT TO EJECT.

one of my CDs never played in my computer. i never figured out why, but for some reason if i made a copy of the CD (on that same computer), then my computer could pay the copy. if you have a blank disk lying around, it’s at least worth a try.
There’s too many of them for me to do that. At least 50!
The problem is the Music Industry’s DRM (Digital Rights Management) bugs embedded into the CD. Sony Music is one of the worst offenders.
Same thing with DVDs.
Ever try and play a Disney DVD in your computer? I just tried to play the new National Treasure movie. It will play through all the ads and previews, and then as soon as the movie should start, it dies.
DRM sucks.

A few years ago someone discovered that by blacking out the center ring of a CD (I think it was the center) with a magic marker, the DRM was disabled. Google it.
Make sure it’s actually a CD. A CD is a standardized audio format not just a silver disc. When some labels tried to insert DRM on their CD’s, the CD group sued and made them take CD off the product. If it doesn’t “Compact Disc Audio” , it’s not and some drives won’t play them.
