Why is this even an issue? Every year on Christmas Day several professional basketball games are televised from coast to coast. Except for a few hard core Evangelicals (maybe 2%, or about the same percentage of Jews living in the USA) not a single word is said or a critical opinion column written. This entire issue is crap. The religious should observe whatever they like, whenever they like and leave the rest of us corrupt secularists alone.
