What a maroon! The first thing you check — ANY TIME YOU HANDLE A GUN — is that it is not loaded. No bullets in the magazine (or no magazine in the gun) and no bullet in the chamber.

RayS — back a few years ago, there was a picture of teabaggers with a sign which had the word “moron”. And it was spelled wrong. It became an internet tradition to refer to them as maroons (as was used on the sign).
