Fred C. Koch was the father of the Koch brothers. Fred was the founder of the extremist right wing John Birch Society. After the leader of the John Birch Society, George Lincoln Rockwell, was assassinated the group was swallowed up by the Klu Klux Klan. So why wouldn’t the Koch brothers found and fund another neo-Nazi group? Capitalists hate Leftists. And slightly left of center liberals and progressives.

Rockwell wasn’t the head of the JBS–or the Jack Acid Society, as Walt Kelly called them–but of his own relatively tiny neo-Nazi movement. The Birchers were and are delusional right-wingers, but they never wore Nazi uniforms or robes. You can make a case that the Tea Partiers are protofascists, but calling them neo-Nazis misses the mark.
