Water has always been one of the major issues and obstacles to a two-state solution. Isreal wants to control ALL of it. If that’s not possible then they want to control as much of the water flowing into Palestine as they can. For obvious reasons which have to do with cutting off the flow of water to Palestine if the Palestinian’s don’t behave themselves. This isn’t granting sovereignty. Would the world be a safer place if we had a one-state solution with Palestinians given full Israeli citizenship and one-man/woman, one-vote political rule?

It’s been clear for a long time that getting control of the water sources was part and parcel of the Israeli land grabs. They tended to choose land over and surrounding the best aquifers.

Palestinians have complained, to no effect, of this for a long time.
