Lazy Donald

Donald Trump

I seem to be the only person appalled by this:

The vice presidential pick will also be part of the process of proving he’s ready for the White House, Manafort said.

“He needs an experienced person to do the part of the job he doesn’t want to do. He sees himself more as the chairman of the board, than even the CEO, let alone the COO.”

“There is a long list of who that person could be,” Manafort added, “and every one of them has major problems.”

The campaign probably won’t choose a woman or a member of a minority group, he said. “In fact, that would be viewed as pandering, I think.”

  1. The first problem with any of the Dumpsterfire’s veep picks is that they’d have to be someone willing to work with him. Obvious disqualification right there. Of course they all have “major problems.”

Plus somebody in his position has to worry. The solution is clear if you have a total but arrogant incompetent who has a veep who could do the job.

  2. There isn’t anything about Trump that isn’t appalling, Susie.

I’ll be surprised if his veep pick isn’t Gingrich. It’s not surprising Trump wants to delegate the job, either. He is lazy and incompetent. And he would be the type of boss to blame subordinates and shirk responsibility for mistakes – but take credit for successes.

I never thought he really wanted this. Too much work.

  3. He should nominate someone who’s strong, competent, likable, and experienced.
    Like Dick Cheney.

  4. He sees himself more as the chairman of the board, than even the CEO, let alone the COO.

Well, that’s kind of scary and seems like his campaign guy is telling the voters they will get just a figurehead. Uh oh, on so many levels.

First of all, the president of the US is not a merely ceremonial office; it requires a lot of “decidering,” as BushBoy might put it. Got to be the Deciderer. If that’s going to be farmed out, and Trump is trying to placate the Republican PTBs by bringing on all sorts of Corporatist NeoCons (kind of like Dem NeoLibs and just as hawkish and bent on further wealth redistribution upward, usually), all those voters who pricked up their ear and chose to vote for Trump –because he seemed to be against all these foreign wars the government has involved in, he seemed to want to cut military expenditures, he said Soc Sec should not be messed with and maybe just improved, and, of course, he’s going to create all those jobs here in the USA, yada, yada– well, those voters might be mighty disappionted and mighty pissed off.

Come the revolution? Or, just deeper apathy? Then, come the feudal age of the 21st Century?
