Actually, a scary article in The Atlantic. That said, this is The Great Recession, and all the old “rules” of what a typical middle-class, suburban, white American “had” to do to get ahead in life are gone, utterly gone.
And no-one knows quite for sure what the new ones are except if you don’t have a job, get one STAT, and if you have one, keep it. Given the vagaries of hiring and layoffs, this is pretty weak gruel indeed.
