  1. Susie,

Hang in there. 2.2 years without a steady paycheck for me, although I’ve picked up four or five months of contract work in w i d e l y spaced increments of a few weeks here and a few weeks there.

But don’t worry, 2010 will be the year we all get rich by trickle down from Wall Street. Or by selling T-shirts to each other. Or something.

  2. I began reading the comments but I had to stop… the arrogance of some readers and the lack of compassion or understanding of the problems people face. To the readers who objected that a woman should move to a cheaper apartment, well, maybe she alreadyis in cheaper place. The article said she didn’t have the fist and last months rent she needs to move. The people saying a person should have had savings… well, maybe the savings have already been used up because their UI benefits weren’t that much…. but I ranting to the choir aren’t I. Susie, I hope you and both find jobs in this year. Or maybe I can somehow start a business…. but the American job market has to be restructured to account for all kinds of jobs.
