Sorry to jump to a comment that has nothing to do with this particular post, but I wanted you to know that I deal with back pain each and every day as a result of a disc replacement surgery I had back in 02. The docs replaced C3 through C7 in my neck and I really haven’t been the same since—I had to retire as a school teacher in 03. Hang tough if you can because it is something you pretty much have to live with. I modify the pain through the use of a Teeter Inverter to help loosen the joints—but mostly I need the drugs to get by.
