The moral of the story is, I believe – “Don’t Vote the L.O.T.E” (Lesser of Two Evils). That’s what I did this past November. I decided if the Democrats were going to sell out to the corporations and push perpetual war, I’d stop voting for them. So I voted Green. Might have made a difference in my district; our three-term Dem. Representative, Melissa Bean, lost to a far right Republican. Did I care? No. Bean never met a bank she didn’t love. She never voted to stop the wars. Was she the “LOTE”? Yes – but I just couldn’t bring myself to vote “LOTE” anymore – and I doubt if I ever will again.
