Last summer they cut food stamps. This winter they want to cut LIEAP. But the bankers are doing great, and the stock market is up. Profits are climbing. but not jobs, so we have a new concept “jobless recovery”. I am so disgusted with this president and the congress that I can’t stand it. No wonder Mubarak is their friend – he is just one of them.
The amounts saved by LIEAP and food stamp cuts are minuscule and unnecessary. These cuts are purely symbolic to make a point: “Money need not fear. We will sacrifice people to money.”
It is clear that the people who need help are of no value. Only the rich have value. At least we know now where they stand
