I was in high school, nearby, in Michigan, on May 4, 1970. The next day, after Kent State, the other high schools in the district closed down as students appeared outside ours, in black armbands, shouting “close it down! close it down!” We stayed open, but had teach-ins all day. Very hard to convey the revolutionary atmosphere to people who weren’t born at that time.
Next year, I guess you will post Crosby, Stills & Nash’s “Ohio.”
Thank you, Susie.
