Just talked to my mom, brother made it out of the city (NY) and they are/were setting up a generator and battening down various hatches at Lake Ariel, some hundred fifty miles inland.
I’ve been looking a weather and satellite maps clear back to the Army (71-73) and that is the biggest damned storm system/hurricane I’ve ever seen.
Would that we had some of that water out here, as there are fifteen forest fires burning within a hundred miles of where I sit (and then there’s those pesky volcanos).
“Only a cat 1″… yeah but it’s at least 400 miles wide (I’ve also heard 600). That’s still a huge area and a lot of rain.
