Well, still have Patriots, no Celtics due to lockout, and the Bruins. As we always say up here, we support two teams-the Red Sox and whoever beats the Yankees. (and of course, the ongoing sports motto is Yankees suck-but I digress)
Don’t cry for Atlanta. The ball club here is a late-arriving corporate perk for the affluent carpet-baggers in the northern suburbs. The last team to have an actual history with locals was a minor league club called the Atlanta Crackers back in my mother’s day. The Red Sox on the other hand – damn shame.
