So if paying off that mortgage on the original terms is called moral, here’s the big hole in that argument. The price that homeowner paid for the thing in the first place is criminally inflated. There are also rates of interest on those mortgages and fees and penalties which are themselves immoral and should be illegal. Where is the moral responsibility to honor any of that?
Morality is only used by bankers when they’re on the short end.
