“Try to cough and deep breathe every hour.” Hard to do, because my ribs hurt so bad when I do anything, but I’m trying. Other than the pain, I’m feeling pretty good. No nausea, thank God. I just finished a bowl of chicken noodle soup and so far, so good. I may even get around to taking a shower soon.

The cuts are all very small, except for a three-inch one at the top. I seem to remember the recovery room nurse saying they had to make a bigger cut because of one really big gallstone that got stuck.

For those of you who like this sort of thing (I know, most normal people don’t), here’s how it was done.

  1. Glad to hear from you, Susie! It sounds like things are going well so far. I’ll continue to send out healing vibes your way.

  2. Glad you’re doing well. I found that I was feeling pretty ok after about 4-5 days. Only getting up from a bed or a chair was a little dicey. Hope all continues to be good.

  3. The pain really drops off quickly, thank god. Sounds like they had to do some rooting around once they got in. Like fixing your car, there’s always something to complicate matters. Take care and rest. Glad to see you back.

  4. Post surgery, I’ve always found it helpful to really pay attention to how you feel, physically and mentally, every afternoon, makes you appreciate the whole Hey I Feel Better Today Than Yesterday thing that happens. Little pleasures…
