James Carville could be correct about the political fallout if there is a court loss in the ACA case and health care costs continue to spiral out of control.
“You know what the Democrats are going to say – and it is completely justified: ‘We tried, we did something, go see a 5-4 Supreme Court majority,’” Carville added. “The public has these guys figured out. Our polls show that half think this whole thing is political.”
I guess it would be great for political gain, but, what about those who will not be able to get into the health care system?
The only option is the Public Option.
Yes, a lot of people will be hurt by overturning Obamacare. Perhaps we should donate to, and ask for help from, Doctors Without Borders, since the people hurt will be casualties of a civil “cold” war.
I would think that tossing Obamacare would remove it as a GOP issue for November, and provide some stories of the harm done. But then I recall how they’ve beaten the drums for “he’s going to take yer guuuuuns!”, and realize that the real issue is how many voters are still on a nodding acquaintance with reality.
Denying the poor health care has the same basic effect as the various voter suppression laws being enacted.
