Quote of the day

James Galbraith, August 2011:

And the President too is a young man. Unlike say Lyndon B. Johnson or Jimmy Carter, when his term ends he won’t be able simply to go home. He’ll need a big house in a gated suburb, with high walls and rich friends. And a good income, too, from book deals and lecture fees. He may be thinking about that now. … [But] it won’t save him. For if and when he ventures out, for the rest of his life, the eyes of all those, whose hopes he once raised will follow him. The old, the poor, the jobless, the homeless: their eyes will follow him wherever he goes.

  1. That’s one point of view. There are other things that Obama could do. He’s a pretty creative guy so don’t be so quick to come to any conclusions. At least not yet. And anyway it’s doubtful that all those eyes following him will have much of an impact if he is what Galbraith believes him to be.

  2. I don’t know. After four years, I think we have the measure of the man. The best Republican for the job.

  3. So true Ron. Further, I always thought it was pretty evident that Obama was a Trojan Horse from day one, due to the fact that somehow he was even enabled to ‘run’ for office in the full midst of the Cheney Bush Dynasty, which were/are still running things; no difference between “the part[ie]y”s (outside of the voters), at days end.

(and sorry, “Ten Bears” (but, is that your first and last, not anonymous(?????)!, name, …dear?), I’ve simply changed my mind (you can call me “Sybil,” …. I suppose, though it would not fit)).

  4. Why yes, Sybil, my name is Ten Bears, Thomas Ten Bears. Has been since my grand-parents took in their good christian daughter’s bastard child.

  5. “Ten Bears”:

Pardon me if I wonder about the intent (and even the believability of your name), in your back and forth commentary with me. …It doesn’t really seem to fit (to me) with your initial (bewildering to me) onslaughts towards my few posts, as “anon” which were posted here:

In those above noted posts I made, there was nothing you could construe as an attack towards you, or, what Susie has posted.

Calling me ‘Sybil,’ when I already noted that it doesn’t fit, has certainly ‘aided’ that believability, ….not. You may as well be some “eleventh dimensional chess” asshole in Chicago, paid by Rahm And Obomber the Droner (to my mind) at the end of the day, to pretend there’s a difference between the psychopathic Cheney/Bush (and many before them) path, and the Obama/Biden (Biden/Obama?) path,…of ultimate death, to all things decent and life sustaining.

  6. Could the two of you just knock it off? You’re not actually communicating, you’re talking past each other.

  7. I’ll knock it off, though I never addressed Ten Bears with the type of animosity he’s aimed towards me in the first place; so it’s not quite like I shouldn’t have had the opportunity to defend myself. But yeah, enough is enough, thanks for letting the post through.
