Spare a thought for the heads of French public companies who are having to dig deep and find their inner patriot after the new Socialist government issued guidelines limiting CEO pay to 20 times that of the lowest paid worker.

How do we get some? By rejecting the pathetic belief that anyone can, with a bit of luck and a lot of hard work, become a one-percenter. By overhauling our political system and restoring democracy. By reacting to injustice with persistent, purposeful outrage. It’s no accident that the backlash against proponents of austerity in Europe began in France. Or that Americans, although burdened with a two-party system that leaves them with the choice of Obama or Romney, continue to eat shit. The billionaires and their front men say, “You’ll eat it and like it,” and the people say, “Yes, boss.” They’re conditioned that way.
