Seems counterintuitive, but it’s usually the case that assholes are very sensitive.
My freshman rep had one town hall where some people were rude to her after she voted for the Paul Ryan budget the first time. She has not had an open town hall since and even requested that the local rag not publicize her invite-only coffees.
