Leadership or the lack of leadership from the ‘top’ is an overvalued commodity. In a republic the bottom or “we the people” tell those we elect how to act and what to do. They do not tell us. Only in an authoritarian plutocracy—what we currently live under—do the people elected tell “we the people” how to respond to their leadership. Our system as it is presently being run is upside down.
