Fascinating. I wonder if Steve has done the same with Obama, our current President. I’ll check that out.
I’m a Rocky Anderson fan, myself. From way back.
533 lies, my ass. Everytime this bastard opens his mouth he lies. I love it when he tries to talk about ironing his brand new Costco-purchased shirts. He’s a lyin-ass lier, period. ‘Henry’ (probably the butler’s name) needs to be interviewed to verify the latest attempt to connect The RMoneys with us regular folks. Keep talking Annie and Willard, just keep talking. Please.
Oh, and btw, I can hardly wait for Willard to debate Barack: if the moderators do their jobs and ask the appropriate policy-related questions, Obama is gonna have Rmoney for din-din. Can’t wait to enjoy a little popcorn and a coupla beers.
Oh, one more point about the Foreign Policy debate: after the debacle and embarassment, and the fool he made of himself during his overseas tour of our Allies, Willard may as well call in sick for that one.
I agree that I would love to see a similar list for Obama.
And, especially, for Paul Ryan.
I am not a Catholic, but I understand there are sins of commission and sins of omission. Seems to be Ryan specializes in lying, but partiularly uses lies of omission (as does Romney). Somehow they seem to think those are acceptable. Or at least untilitarian and necessary for getting them into power, and, as good Republicans, they know the ends justify the means.
But, as a Catholic, I would think Ryan is familiar with the concept of doing wrong by omission. And he’s doing plenty wrong with all the lies he told just with his acceptance speech.
Ryan does, however, also adhere to the Books of Ayn Rand, wisdom from a human power, from a human who doesn’t believe in god, and those books support any means to achieving one’s individual goals. She had her own internal contradiction, as she believed FDR and SocSec was the beginning of a true socialist state in the US. However, she also accepted and welcomed her SocSec checks.
Ryan appears to be able to pick out from both his religion and his ideology, even from reality, those things which he supports, ignoring others. So, since the ends justify the means, he will lie, contrary to his religion. And since winning power is the objective, he –and Romney– will lie to voters to attain that power. He will even lie about his never accepting Ayn Rand’s atheism, his almost total belief that what she wrote was right.
Now, Romney told a fellow Mormon, Prof. Judith Dushku (Yes, Buffy fans, mother of the actress), that he had been given dispensation by the brethren in Utah to tell the MA voters what the wanted to hear (thanks to BostonBoomer for the write-up), even if those things did not comport with Romney’s personal beliefs or with Mormon teaching and beliefs. The end, Romney furthering his political career, was of great importance to the brethren and the Mormon church. As well as to Romney, of course, and his whole career is built on making people believe that what he wants –in business, making scads of money, in poltiics, getting ahead– is what they need and want, even if for some it bankrupts their companies and ends their decently paid work lives or, in governing, if it destroys the social safety nets and pauperizes people going forward.
Pols who can lie when staring truth in the face scare me. That includes Obama, but this R&R duo is well and truly over the top.
