  1. Mike’s analysis sounds really correct in his over-all point of view about Obama being defeated in November. But I disagree that the president will lose the election for a number of reasons. He may not have generated the enthusiasm of the youth vote just yet, but the Latino, AAs, women, and the Jewish votes are pretty much locked up. And besides, he didn’t win the white vote in ’08. Plus, I think it is important to note that when the RNC had less viewers than Baby Boo Boo on the night the nominee accepted the nomination, then the RNC has lots and lots of work to do.

It isn’t just wishful thinking to believe that Obama will get a second term. He certainly hasn’t done many of the things we all hoped he would in his first term, but what on earth will Mitt say during the debates when the nation is really paying attention? He still hasn’t released his tax returns, and won’t. He knows nothing about foreign policy, the voter suppression actions won’t work because these days most folks of all races and cultures believe that the right to vote is not a priviledge (with more court action sure to follow Texas). And how does he explain why his money is overseas and not here in America? He can say to the public that he paid the same amount of taxes by shipping his money to the Swiss, but who in a sane mind would believe such bullshit? These topics will come up in the debates and he’ll be called to account.

No, I can’t go along with Michael Moore on his prediction. As he says at the end, “I just don’t know”. Me? I’ll smoke what Mike’s smoking.

  2. Michael Moore is a fine fellow. Unfortunately he’s become quite irrelevant with Obama in the White House. With Mitt Romney in the White House Moore can once again take center stage. Come on Mikey fess up and admit that it’s great to be a part of the 1% and have the riff raff and underachievers hang on your every word? What a sad end to such a promising human being.

  3. The concern, as always, is generating enough enthusiasm to get people to vote. The record numbers of young people who turned out for Obama the last time are not going to recur — and with Obama pointing out in almost every interview how he’s willing to make a deal with Republicans that will cut Medicare and Social Security, well, women aren’t going to be all that enthusiastic, either. And he did win white women the last time.

  4. It has always been about turnout since the very beging of the republic. Anyone on the Left who talks Obama down is doing the Republicans job for them. Not allowing the radical right to take the reins of government should be enough motivation for any sane person to go to the polls and vote ‘against’ Romney and every other Republican. If the T-baggers get to be in charge all of those “unhappy with Obama” groups will be buried once and for all.

  5. Nonsense. We survived Bush. We will survive Romney. The Democrats in opposition are a better bet for entitlements. A critical voting mass is still buying the trickle down premise. Until that blows back in their faces, we are destined to more of the same even with Obama in the White House. The only good news that could come of this election is that the Democrats find themselves threatened from the left.

  6. I agree – there isn’t enough difference in the two major parties with the exception the Dems could get away with butchering SSN – the Repugs cannot. This is the year to vote your conscience – not the lesser of two evils.

  7. Iless, what in hell are you smoking? “We survived Bush. We will survive Romney.”

Yeah, fortunately (or unfortunately) the gubmint came in, used our tax dollars and bailed out the largest economy in the world. So we almost DIDN’T survive Bush, and we’re still struggling and will continue to do so for years to come to OVERCOME the Bush policies. We “survived” Bush, barely. He gave the richest people in the land the largest tax cut in history, lied us into two wars on China’s credit card, approved an unpaid for prescription drug plan, and blew our treasury that had a surplus when he came to office. Have you no sence of the depth of deceit Bush wrought on this country? And you now think we can survive another nutjob to lead us further into deficit and a Walmart economy?

The middle class is shrinking quickly, the unions are fading, joblessness is rampant, people are hurting, and YOU believe we can “survive” more of what we got when Bush was in office? If RMoney gets into the Oval Office we all better learn the “survival” techniques of The Great Depression because that’s precisely what we’ll be dealing with.

Now, get back to smoking that hallucinary stuff you had in your mouth when you made that moronic comment!
