My main objection is, from what I’ve seen, the book is excruciatingly, badly written. But I’m a firm believer in getting kids to read, and this is what he asked for. You expect every teacher to be familiar with any book? Sounds like this kid’s mother doesn’t want to accept that her son is growing up and developing, uh, adult interests.
It’s a charter. Pull your kid if you want to be that controlling. You have no business censoring what other people’s children read.
Aren’t the Republicans strong backers of non-governmental interference? What do they suppose will happen when we anarchists have our way?
