The local airwaves have been inundated with this commercial for a while now, and their campaign is taking out full-page ads in the paper. The point, of course, is to product the sugar drinks industry.

Every time I listen to it, I wonder why corporate conservatives are so adamant about protecting your God-given right to load your shopping cart with high-fructose corn syrup, yet can turn on a dime to explain why it’s their business to not just coerce women into giving birth or to lie to them, telling them abortions cause breast cancer, but to prevent women from making their own decisions about their own families.

Oh, I know: The business interests of a powerful lobby vs. the rights of an individual. Silly me!
