Holy crap! And not all that far to the north, the island of Manhattan had perhaps 7.5 drops…
I heard over 8″ this morning.
Welcome to the new “normal.”
While “weather” is not “climate,” climate does set the conditions for unusual weather.
And, I fear, this high humidity, high temps, unexpected pop-up storms, some very strong and dangerous, may become the new climate around these parts. (I’m in northern suboonia of NJ.)
Also, the US weather bureau did predict higher than normal temps, much higher humidity, and unexpected and hard to predict storms.
The heavy rains are not good for agriculture, btw.
