Jon Stewart had Kathleen Sebellius on last night and asked a lot of tough questions about Obamacare — especially the non-working website.
The Daily Show’s website wasn’t working all morning, or I would have put it up earlier.

(Wrong link. That one goes to the clip about the expert and Fukushima, which was excellent, but it’s not TDS. 😀 )
??? Works fine for me.
Works for me too.
Works for me too at this point. Props to Jon for keeping on, but Sebelius seemed capable of not answering the question forever.
She obviously knows that the actual actuarial answer doesn’t cut it with normal human beings. And from a fairness standpoint all she can say is, “Yeah, we decided to screw the little people. Isn’t that what they’re for?”
The other thing is, if forcing individuals in is essential, but businesses don’t matter either way, why not leave them in too? She just said it makes no difference in their case. Even by her own stated logic it comes down to doing one group a favor that the other doesn’t get.
Man, are these people horrible.
Yes, except it’s not true. The small business exception only affected a small number of people, while the individual mandate is the backbone of the program. Without enough people in the program, the rates are too high. This was not a nefarious thing.
