Taking advice from a 1%’er generally isn’t wise. Then again according to the Republicans we have a “failed entitlement system.” They claim that Social Security Insurance, Medicare, and Unemployment Insurance are failed entitlement programs. Not only are they NOT entitlement programs, but they have NOT failed. Every worker pays a percentage of their yearly wages into each of these programs to keep them solvent and self-perpetuating. So once again the Republicans are lying through their teeth. But what the sleazy, scumbag Republicans and their equally dishonest enablers the Libertarians and T-baggers do best is lie to us. Let’s hope Pelosi calls them out.
Yes, they *are* entitlement programs, imhotep. You wanna know why? Because we earned them and so we are *entitled* to them. And it doesn’t help much that you are buying into the 1%’ers framing that *entitlements* is a dirty word.
