Can’t have anything approaching a productive conversation with Republicans about Obamacare.
GOP: We hate this.
ME: Single payer.
GOP: Look at all these problems.
ME: Fix them!
GOP: Look at all these moochers, leeching off productive taxpayers!
ME: Ironic much?
We can all see where this is headed. The federal government, CMS to be more precise, hired corporate contractors to build a website. Which, as it turns out, doesn’t work all that well. In rides the CEO of e-Health, Gary Lauer, on his corporate white horse to tell us that only the “private sector” can save the day. “You see,” says Gary, “the for-profit, corporate sector is qualified to do this work and the federal government is not.” Huh?? Weren’t the original contractors who screwed the pooch when they built the website free market, private sector, for-profit, corporate IT workers? Why are Lauer’s IT workers any more qualified to do this job than those private sector IT workers that the government hired? More money…..more money….more money.
