There are 390 federal judges appointed by Republicans sitting on the bench. There are 390 federal judges appointed by Democrats sitting on the bench. There are 93 empty judgeships to be filled. That is what this fight was all about. When Obama appoints and the Senate Democrats confirm those 93 judges, it’s game over for the Republican Federalists. Cruz and his Koch brother supporters can’t stand the thought of what will follow when that happens.
The atmosphere in the Senate is about as benign as the surface of Venus. To tell the truth, I’m not confident that Dems will nominate anything but the usual corporate friendly sycophants that have been the usual served up for 40 years.
My God, they have abolished reading Dr. Suess in the Senate!
