I don’t think even crazy people like Jerry Boykin believe their own crap. They’re just mixing up a psychic stew to serve to their donors:

Family Research Council’s Executive Vice President William (Jerry) Boykin predicted the Son of God will have an AR-15 assault rifle at the Second Coming.
“Republican Jesus to rise again.” That is very well put because there are in fact two Jesus’. The fake Jesus worshipped and quoted by the Right and the real Jesus. The funny thing is that when the real Jesus does return the press won’t cover him/her very much. The 1% will call him/her a communist and a taker. And because he/she will denounce war and those who demand it he/she will be labeled a traitor. When he/she calls out the merchants and the great men on earth for their sorcery and lies he/she will be called crazy. Then again perhaps Jesus is not one, but 144 thousand speaking in a single voice.
I don’t see anything in Revelation about Jesus carrying an AR-15 assault rifle.
But I do see at Revelation 22: 18 “…I warn every one who hears the words of prophecy of this book: if any one adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book…”
