The end of an era:

Alexander “Sasha” Shulgin, the pioneering pharmacologist who introduced MDMA to psychologists in the 1970s, has died aged 88 after a battle with liver cancer.

Shulgin was famed for having synthesized and tested over 200 psychedelic drugs.

He earned the title, the “Godfather of ecstasy”, after developing a new synthesis method for MDMA – the purest available form of ecstasy – in 1976. He passed it on to his therapist friend Leo Zeff, who began using the drug’s effects on an individual’s emotional states during sessions with clients.

Shortly after his introduction, ecstasy broke into the mainstream, infiltrating the club culture in New York and Chicago, and hitting the shores of Ibiza, before finally landing in the UK.

  1. Talk about people hallucinating. The entire Right in this country and that includes the corporate media is really pissed off at Obama. He gave up 5 Taliban for 1 American. And Bergdahl is a traitor. Make no mistake, this argument pits the warmongers against the peacemongers. We need to get out of Afghanistan and so we must negotiate with all the parties who will make up any new government. So Obama released 5 members of the Taliban who will probable be included in any new government. They were officials in the government we overthrew illegally. Are they dangerous? If you drop a bomb on my family and my friends, I’d be dangerous too. Did Bergdahl quit the army? Probably, but that’s what you have to do if you refuse to comply with an illegal order or two or dozens. The warmongers want to keep on warring and the peacemongers want to stop them. Fuck the Right and the warmongers. Much to my surprise and unexpected delight, Clinton supports the peace position. I think.
