I’d rather listen to Russell Brand than Joe Scarborough any day:
Russell Brand took a break from his own YouTube show Tuesday to join Cenk Uygur on The Young Turks for an extended discussion that touched on the alleged “liberal bias” in American media. According to Brand, the generally left-leaning MSNBC represents “extremely conservative” ideas.
“I think the reason that people say that the media is liberal is to preemptively prevent true liberalism emerging,” Brand told Uygur.
[…] Brand infamously appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe last June, during which he openly mocked the show’s hosts, asking, “Is this what you all do for a living?!”
He explained that on MSNBC or any other mainstream media outlet, no one is telling people not to vote for Democrats or Republican and instead “devolve power so ordinary people have power over their own lives.” Brand said we need to be “more ambitious in what our understanding of change is.”
Uygur mused that both he and Dylan Ratigan were advocating the removal of money from politics when they were on MSNBC. “Wait a minute, what happened to both of us?” he asked. “Oh we’re not on MSNBC anymore.”
Didn’t Brand also mention that over the past 12 days a lot of notables have had a lot to say about the situation in Ferguson with the notable exception of Hillary? Hillary seems to have something to say about everything, but about Ferguson she’s said nothing. Now that’s leadership!? Couldn’t Hillary simply ask a few questions? Like whether or not Chicago has one of the highest murder rates in the United State? Or isn’t it true that Chicago has a ton of surplus military equipment? Finally, what good is any that equipment doing?
