Today I went to the allergist at U of P’s hospital for allergy tests. Oddly enough, the only positive reaction I had was to ragweed — that, and the histamine shot that made a big red golf ball appear under my skin. I didn’t have a positive reaction to dogs, cats, tree pollen, or dust — all of which make me sick as a dog.
I’ve never been allergic to ragweed. In fact, August (with peak ragweed) is the only time I don’t have a problem.
The doctor told me you can have a localized reaction to allergies, so my puzzlement didn’t last long. But the itching is still here. And the antihistamine they gave me is making me very sleepy.
Thanks to Price Benowitz LLP..
I don’t get this notion that medical doctors are somehow paradigms of wisdom, I don’t even trust them with medicine.
I don’t trust them at all. But when they can give me a coherent argument that makes sense to me, I listen.
